Dear Members,
Earlier this week, we had the pleasure of attending a major announcement that will have lasting impact on Red Deer’s business community. TELUS, in partnership with F3 Networks and the City of Red Deer, unveiled a $168 million investment that will bring TELUS PureFibre services to 90% of homes and businesses in our city. This is a significant milestone for Red Deer and a clear signal of confidence in our region’s future.
At the Red Deer District Chamber, we strongly support investments that enhance the infrastructure our members rely on to grow and compete. Reliable, high-speed internet is no longer a luxury, it’s the foundation for modern business operations, innovation, and economic growth.
This initiative is an excellent example of what’s possible when the public and private sectors come together with a shared vision. We commend TELUS, F3 Networks, AFL, and the City of Red Deer for their collaboration in advancing this project. The rollout of fibre-to-the-premise technology will provide residents and businesses with faster, more reliable internet, and serve as the backbone for 5G wireless coverage and other digital innovations. We are especially encouraged by the collaborative nature of this initiative, because when the public and private sectors work together to drive meaningful infrastructure investments not only do businesses thrive, but the entire community benefits. Enhanced connectivity will unlock new opportunities for commerce, innovation, remote work, and digital services that support long-term economic development.
As a Chamber, we’re committed to championing initiatives that position Red Deer as a dynamic, future-ready community, and this investment will strengthen Red Deer’s position as a competitive and future-ready city, where businesses of all sizes can thrive in an increasingly connected economy. I look forward to seeing the opportunities this infrastructure will unlock for all of our members in the city of Red Deer.
Sincerely,
Scott Robinson
CEO, Red Deer District Chamber of Commerce
